March 9, 2021 @ 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm

Prof Richard Wilkinson will give a talk on SDG10: What inequality does to us and why we need to reduce it.
Richard has contributed vastly to the research on the societal impacts of inequality and on the social determinants of health. Richard´s books and papers have drawn attention to, and increased the evidence base on how societies with bigger income differences between rich and poor have a higher prevalence of a wide range of health and social problems. The Spirit Level, which Richard co-wrote with Kate Pickett has won a number of awards including the 2011 Political Studies Association Publication of the Year Award. Richard currently holds several positions including Professor Emeritus of Social Epidemiology at the University of Nottingham Medical School. Richard has also co-founded The Equality Trust which works with people and organisations to build a movement of social change through collective action.
